Oatlands 1st year Gaelic footballers finished off a great year for the college with a
comprehensive 9-3 to 0-3 win
in the Dublin schools 1st year final.

Oatlands has stars all over the field. In defence Kevin Maher, Alan Kavanagh and Cian Robinson all gave excellent displays. Andrew O’Malley, Mark Murnaghan and  Thomas Linehan working tirelessly, providing an excellent supply for the lethal full-forward line of Ken Kelly, Gio Boccarrossa and Dean Clarke who finished up with 9 goals between them.

Throughout the year the panel has been very strong, with players competing for positions all over the field. Craig Dalton, Conor O’Byrne, Mark O’Brien, Simon McGinty, Sam Memery, Simon Moore, Walter Kavanagh, Caolan Mahedy, Paul McMorrow, Simon Taylor all played very well throughout the year.

The spine of this Oatlands team was exceptional all year. Oisin Geoghegan was faultless in goals, with Mark Hanratty dominating the full back position. Further out the field Ian Goulding played a captains role, with Neil Yodalahi and James Kavanagh dominating the mid-field exchanges in all games.

The future looks bright for these Oatlands players and hopefully this will not be the last title that they bring back to the school.
