A valuable away point against Clonkeen

The Oatlands soccer team earned a very creditable two all draw against a strong Clonkeen side on Monday 19th November to ensure qualification from the group stage of the Dublin Championship. The absence of some key players through injury did nothing to dent the spirit of this in-form team.

Peter Mc Carthy was again on target for Oatlands, having scored twice against St. McDaras in the previous match. On this occasion he showed lightning quick reflexes in hammering home the rebound from his own left footed strike. Gary Donnelly had a great game, hitting the post and the crossbar during his brief spell on the field. A cross cum shot from Alan Redmond on the left wing then put Oatlands into a 2-1 lead before Clonkeen equalised to leave it honours even at the finish.
