Soccer

Oatlands u16's had an excellent 3-1 victory over St. Benildus with Ian Goulding, Mark Murnaghan, Reuben Dunster and Mark Hanratty all giving excellent displays. It has been a very successful year so far for the college Soccer teams with both the u18 and u16 teams in the South Dublin final.

U18 Gaelic Football

Oatlands u18’s were handed a tough opening game against a strong Ard Scoil Ris team. Played in extremely windy conditions, Oatlands found themselves 9 points down at half time before producing a magnificent second half performance to win on a final score of 3-10 to 3-5. The crucial score came from Man Of the Match Dillon Mulligan, coming up from wing back to score a superb goal. Jack Memery, Andrew O’Malley, Jamie Fernandez and Ronan Carney all gave excellent performances.

Oatlands next opponents were Old Bawn, a team who defeated Oatlands last year in this competition. Mark Kavanagh gave a virtuoso performance, scoring 3-3, leading the team to a 7-10 to 0-9 victory. Other good performers on the day were Jack Doughan (0-4), Padraig Fitzpatrick (1-0), Dan McNamara (2-0), Jamie Fernandez and Captain Baethan Teague.

The best performance of the year so far was saved for the semi final clash with Castleknock CC. Man of the Match Jack Doughan led a magnificent team performance, Oatlands eventually winning on a score line of 4-8 to 10 points. Oisin Geoghegan, Mark Hanratty, JJ Shovlin and David Devereux all gave heroic displays in defence, setting up countless attacks which Bill O’Carroll (1-3), Jack Memery (2-0) and Mark Kavanagh (0-3) turned into scores.

Oatlands now have to prepare for the Dublin final at the end of January.
