Oatlands College is an Anti-Bullying school, and has a proactive programme in place, with zero tolerance for bullying. The Pastoral Care Programme consists of Class Tutors, Year Heads, and the Care Team consisting of the Principal, Deputy Principal, Year Heads, Guidance Counsellor, and Special Needs Co-Ordinator, placing the individual student at the heart of our school.
Oatlands College aims to create a positive environment for teaching and learning. The overall objective is to remove low-level misbehaviour by focusing on recognizing, endorsing and rewarding good behaviour in the different teaching groups and individuals within those groups.
At the end of the year, exceptional performance and achievement is acknowledged during Awards Night and Graduation Night.
The first ever Prefects have been selected in Oatlands College in the academic year 2012/2013.
The system is envisaged to give the 6th year students the opportunity to display leadership qualities and to act as an "older brother" to the Junior classes in the college.
The Prefects will accompany classes to/from Public functions and may be of assistance in referring students experiencing any difficulties to the relevant Year Heads in the school.
