Oatlands College Discipline and Pastoral Care
line

The Code of Discipline derives its rationale from the ideal of community which has been set out in the College Mission Statement. An essential ingredient in the school climate we wish to promote is the concept of respect - self-respect, respect for all other members of the school community and respect for the school environment.

As bullying of any kind undermines this climate of respect and causes psychological damage, the College Authorities take a most serious view of it. Our definition of bullying includes physical aggression, damage to property, extortion, threats, name calling, abusive language and taunting. Victims of bullying and their parents are encouraged to discuss their problems with any of the following members of the Pastoral Care team: Class Tutor, Dean, Guidance Counsellor or Principal.

Before enrolling a pupil at Oatlands College, prospective parents are provided with a copy of the Code of Discipline which comprises an Introduction, the College Rules and Sanctions for breaches of Rules.
